Discover our collection of heritage locomotives, rolling stock and historic buses — all preserved and maintained by dedicated volunteers
Our depot at Ruddington Fields is home to a remarkable collection of heritage vehicles — some ready for action on the line, others awaiting their turn for restoration. Together they span over a century of British railway and road transport history.
Besides the railway's own vehicles, we welcome private owners and preservation societies dedicated to the upkeep of vehicles with special historical significance. Every vehicle here has a story, and our volunteers work tirelessly to ensure those stories are preserved for future generations.

Many of our locomotives and vehicles operate on special event days throughout the year — from steam galas and diesel days to family running days and seasonal specials. The best way to see the fleet is to come and experience it for yourself.
For detailed specifications, full histories and additional photography of every vehicle, visit the complete fleet database on the GCRN website.
