We have some good news on the new toilet block project. We've received another generous grant, this time from East Midlands Railway Community Fund for £15,000.
With the contribution from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and East Midlands Airport Community Fund, we now have £57,000 secured for the construction. We can add to that your incredible donations which keep arriving and now total £8,000. Thank you very much indeed for your generous support.
Meanwhile, the Friends of the Great Central Main Line have also agreed a grant in principle which is also great news.
The project now has architectural drawings and we are currently in dialogue with Rushcliffe Borough Council ahead of any required planning application. We are working towards a start of construction in late September and we hope to have the toilets open in late November. For the first time it will give us full wheeled access toilets and a dedicated baby change / family space.
As the project includes demolition of the existing block and preparing the area, the costs have risen to £80,000. We're keeping our appeal open, continuing to raise pounds so we can all spend a penny.
We hope you'll consider a donation at lnergctrust.org
Once again, thank you to all our funders and to you for your humbling support for this project.
