Here's a great sight to see. The brand new A60 bridge in Loughborough now has track across it again, with thanks to everyone from both Great Central Railway Nottingham and Great Central Railway Leicestershire working together.
The track connects GCR(N) back to the national railway network at Loughborough junction which means trains can arrive onto and depart from our line. The empty bridge span - complete with fresh ballast will one day carry the line which reconnects GCR(N) to the Great Central Railway in Leicestershire.
On the 16th and 17th of March we're hosting a joint event with the GCR which will see the two halves of the railway work together to mark the 125th anniversary of the Great Central Railway opening in 1899. For the event - in lieu of the rest of the Reunification project being completed, you'll be able to travel between the two halves of the line by vintage bus.
Tickets and details of the event are below.
