Take the controls of the steam locomotive, Austerity No.18, along our 8 miles of track in the Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire countryside between Ruddington and Loughborough (A60 Brush Works). Feel the heat of the boiler and the power at your fingertips as you drive a steam engine across our extensive tracks.
What your day will include:
- Start with a safety briefing and tour of the locomotive with your instructor
- Enjoy stepping on the footplate of Austerity No.18 and drive the locomotive along 8 miles (and back!) of the Great Central Railway in the Nottinghamshire countryside.
- Complimentary Full English Breakfast for the driver after the experience.
- 2 tickets to ride on the train as a passenger for the driver and 1 guest.
- Chat to the people behind the steam and the staff who work with the locomotives regularly.
Only one person will be allowed on the footplate of the locomotive due to limited space, and pre-booking is essential.
