We need to build a proper steam locomotive servicing pit at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre. It's essential to make preparing and cleaning a locomotive much easier. We want to install it before the end of 2025. It will also mean we can welcome and service any visiting locomotives coming in from the main line connection.
It's going to be built outside of the locomotive running shed at Ruddington. We have the plans and we've paid the deposit. Now we need to raise some serious money.
We've launched an appeal where anyone donating £100 can have their name recorded on a special brick to be installed near to the new locomotive pit, in a public area. It's being run by the East Midlands Transport Heritage Trust
Click the link if you'd like to make a donation. Any contribution is very welcome - you don't have to get a brick of course - but this is a great chance to make your mark on the heritage centre and Great Central Railway.
