Work on the new carriage shed building is now underway and is expected to last three months.
The new back door in place - the first job completed by our contractor. The building has also been cleared out ready for the bigger tasks ahead. The newly laid track connecting the building to the rest of the sidings at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre has also received some ballast.
The money for the building has come partly from our supporting charities, East Midlands Railway Trust and LNER (GC) Heritage Trust and £40,000 has come from the governments levelling up funds.
We are raising £15000 to complete the funding jigsaw which will mean we can install a front door to the building and complete the electrical fit out.
We can announce we have now raised £3000 so thank you to everyone who has donated. Please give if you can - working together by the end of the year will put four carriages securely undercover.
