Access Statement

At Great Central Railway (Nottingham) we welcome everyone regardless of their background. We are committed to a policy of equality, inclusivity and accessibility for all, recognising the diverse nature of our staff and visitors. At GCRN we accept the social model of disability and that people are not a homogenous group; we are all individuals with needs and aspirations.
Accessibility is both the physical and attitudinal, we aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment which is intuitive to use. We aim to provide disabled access on all our rail services including wheelchair access via a portable ramp although sometimes, due to operational restrictions, this is not always possible and we would always advise to contact us on 0115 9405705 before starting your journey. Unfortunately, at the moment there are no disabled toilet facilities available on the trains although this is something we are currently working on.
Our main site at Ruddington is all hard standing on one level with disabled access available to all buildings (by ramp to the Model Railway) and with a dedicated disabled toilet. It must be noted however that our carpark is currently a temporary loose surface that can prove difficult with wheelchairs.

Rushcliffe Halt is not wheelchair accessible due to being on split levels.

Please note that this access statement does not include the Miniature Railway which is run by Nottingham Society of Model & Experimental Engineers.
